Cincinnati Camerata is excited to announce that Trevor Kroeger assumes the role of Artistic Director for the 2018-19 concert season. Trevor follows a six-year tenure of Brett Scott and plans to expand Camerata’s mission of community choral excellence starting with his directing debut in Camerata’s annual Marian concert on December 1st and 2nd, 2018. Welcome, Trevor!
An accomplished young conductor, Trevor Kroeger is Director of Music and Organist at St. Rose Church in Cincinnati, where he founded the Choir of St. Rose in 2014. This professional chamber choir performs for weekly liturgical observances and presents acclaimed concerts of choral masterworks throughout the year. With a repertoire that spans nearly six centuries, the ensemble has been praised for its captivating and refreshing performances of sacred choral music. In addition to his responsibilities at St. Rose, Trevor is the Assistant Organist at St. Peter in Chains Cathedral. Previously, Trevor was the Assistant Conductor for the advanced division of the Cincinnati Boychoir.
When he’s not on the podium, Trevor shares his passion for choral music with ensembles throughout Cincinnati, singing regularly with Vocal Arts Ensemble, where he serves as the Bass Section Leader, and Coro Volante, an emerging professional choir dedicated to recording choral music by living composers. He has also sung with the May Festival Chorus, the Choir of St. Peter in Chains Cathedral, the Bach Ensemble of St. Thomas, Collegium Cincinnati, and Isaac M. Wise Temple. As a dedicated arts advocate, Trevor proudly serves as the President of the Greater Cincinnati Choral Consortium Board of Directors.
Trevor holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM). His conducting mentors include Marie Bucoy-Calavan, Aik Khai Pung, Earl Rivers, and Brett Scott. Trevor has served as a conducting fellow for the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival, the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir Choral Conductors’ Symposium, and the Chorus America Choral-Orchestral Conducting Academy. Trevor is currently pursuing his Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting at CCM.
In the fall of 2017, Trevor served as Assistant Conductor for Cincinnati Camerata, and he is excited to join the Camerata family again this year as Interim Artistic Director. He is looking forward to sharing his passion for artistic collaboration, innovative programming, and community building with the ensemble and its audiences. In his spare time, Trevor enjoys cooking, reading, traveling, and long evenings laughing with friends.
